Thanks for the welcome, I was in PDC in June with twelve of my friends and loved it. Planning to return soon. I stayed at the Mayan Palace but will be looking to stay in PDC in the future.
Staying at the Imperial Fiesta Club in Cancun. Made my reservation there before experiencing Playa. Will bus to Playa for a day or two. Leaving Nov. 15 for one week. Have time shares with the Mayan Palace resorts in Mexico. Bob from sunny AZ
Hi, Liliane thanks for the welcome. We are getting married in Playa next yr. We've never been to Playa so this site has helped us become somewhat familiar with the area. I'm actually interested in hiring a local photographer. Do you happen to know anyone?
Hi Liliane and thanks for the comment. I write and record concept instrumentals in the rock genre. Although it's commercially released i work with some film/video too. I don't have any immediate plans for travel at this time...but i have to say that the location being presented on the network is very tempting !! Thanks and hope to hear from you. SO I just found out that the resort is the one that is actually IN Playa...is that maybe why the pricing is so high, then?
We are still so uninformed ...I just talked to my girlfriends travel agent, and the agent STILL doesnt know the dates that they are flying out. All we know is that its on the weekend of February 13/14th. :( Sorry for the lack of info.
I'm honestly not EXACTLY sure of the dates, but we MUST be there February 13th (this is the wedding day). As long as we get to go to the wedding, we're happy.
We're thinking if we DONT go with their resort/wedding "package", we'd do our own vacation...February 5 - 14th (leaving early on the 14th preferrably). Then as long as there is a resort that's fairly close to the Sandos Carcol thats 10 min outside of town, we'd be good to go!
We just can't affort $2200 per person for the both of us to go to Mexico right now (that's $4400 FOR BOTH OF US! wow! lol)...but if it were 1/2 that, we'd be happy to go!

And yes - that did include flight, and the all inclusive resort.
Just went in early June and it was awesome. Been going for a few years now. Finally got an all-inclusive right in Playa (instead of Playacar). Best yet! Can't wait to go back.

We go to Playa about once a quarter...we love it. We will be there again on the 27th and will relocate to a resort near Cancun for our annual 4th of July get together with tons of friends. We can't be so close to Playa and not spend time there too!
For anyone who wants the ADO bus schedule...leaves airport on the hour and leaves Playa on the :10 of the hour.

I'm looking forward to heading down to PDC in July. Like I'd told you before I wanted to experience something different that the big resorts this time. I'm checking into a spanish speaking school there called El Estudiante. Can you give me any insight on them. I'm interested in learning basic spanish in order to communicate with locals. I'm planning to stay 4 nights with them in July to check out the school, then return this fall for a two week session if I'm interested. The apt is very reasonable which is what I'm after. I'm wanting to stay at an inexpensive place so I can stay longer. Thanks for any info....Russ
Thank you for the welcome. We very much enjoy our life here in Playa and love watching our children grow up here. This is the first time I have visited this site. It was recommended to me by ClaudiadePaya who is a dear friend of ours. I hope to become a good value added poster on this site.
Hi Liliane, nice to hear from you. I've been to PDC twice and going back in a month. I stayed at the Riu Palace the first time, loved it! The food was great and so was the service. That was in '04. Also stayed at the Gran Porto Real in '06. It wasn't as nice and neither was the food or food options.
I'm wanting to stay in a smaller hotel this time, maybe the blue luna, and eat more authenic food in Playa rather than eating at the resort. Any info anyone has was be greatly appreciated concerning a nice little hotel with a good rate and places to eat good food! I'm looking for a cheaper place so I can go and stay 3-4 wks at at time. Hi Liliane, I was there from 5-23 thru 5-30 first time and it was great . I look forward to comming back soon. i stayed at the Yukatan and went into Playa a couple of times . That is about as far as i ventured out. Would have like to seen more but didnt have much time.
