Thanks for the welcome Russ. I justed checked your profile and saw you're from NJ. Remind me to tell you some fun stories about partying in Wildwood! Come to think of it, the first time my wife and I visited Playa del Carmen, we met some fun folks from New Jersey at Carlos & Charlies.
The last time we visited, we were staying down the road at the Barcelo Maya (great spot!). We loved it so much, we're staying right in town next time so we can take our time exploring all of Playa Del Carmen - we'll be be there the second last week of March.
In reading some of the posts from other club members, it appears as though you know the town quite well. Any advice you have to share about where to go and what to avoid (if there is anything) would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Russ: so sorry that we are going to miss you. We leave Sat morning for Isles. But we will be back. Is there anyplace we should go tonight? Our last night. A good Mexican restaurant. Or anyone we should meet while we're here? Are you affiliated with the Parrot Club at all? We are so enjoying the beach and just walking around, drinking, eating, shopping,helping the local economy....So sorry we'll miss you.

I visited for the first time in 1998 and I do remember the trail going to the beach from the Blue Parrot, dearest memories!
hey can you tell me sum nice places to goto when im in playa that are off the beatn path? you know places only you would know of from going there for so long? like a good resturant to goto with my g/f when we are there. And any places along the beach where we can walk to that is amazing>? you know like a hidden cave or sumthing like that? thanks. Have fun.

Ha i know what you mean! next year iam hoping to stay for 2weeks, would like to find a place where i could come back each year.. like if sumone had a place down there and we could rent it off of them you know? but forsure get yourself together! my mom and her husband are also down there feb 28th - mar 7th too, she is on here her name is midnite. talk to you soon! have a great trip! c u down there ;)
And we always use the internet services when we are down there, im not sure of its name but its not far from the Royal Real Playa its on the corner of 5th and sum street...I'am also bringing down my ipod touch to use with free wifi if there is any i can connect to ;) Be nice to get sum video of our hotel, the Viva Whydham Azteca. Last year we stayed at the Real Playa it was great for our first time, great staff etc..just want sumthing a little more this time around you know? Took awhile for me to decide on the Azteca...just to many to pick from, and i deffinetly did not want to be one of those couples going to 5star hotel thats crazy nice and everything but be stuff out on the highway somewhere and have to cab it everyday!
