MY HUSBAND AND I WERE IN PLAYA FOR THE 1ST TIME IN APRIL AND WE ARE RETURNING THIS AUGUST. STAYING AT THE SHANGRI-LA CARIBE. NICE PLACE. JUST WONDERING IF THEY STILL DO THE FIRE SHOW AT THE BLUE PARROT ANYMORE? WE ARE BRINGING FRIENDS AND I THINK THEY WOULD LIKE IT. THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THIS PART OF MEXICO BEFORE. COUNTING THE DAYS ALREADY.

Kris, I am going to add more pictures from the Azul Fives. These were taken during the New Year holiday. There were about 135 people invited down for a preview (most owners). As for the juice, we have a wine cellar at our home in Dallas with about 600 - 700 of our favorites from California vinyards. Can you direct us to a great wine bar in Playa? We have been to the Glass Bar but so far, prefer to go to La Palette.
Well, as some projects go, this one is yet to open. We are allowed to stay there as we are paid in full and are not complaining that the resort is open yet. November 1st is now the new target date.
We are staying at the Ocean Maya. Know anything about it? Looked really nice. Did hear the private beach had alot of erosion. How is the food? Can't wait to get a great massage on the beach and do some shopping in Playa.
Hola Kris, I'm staying at Hacienda Paradise near the bus terminal. Know any insider info. about it? I saw it when I was there and it looked pretty standard (modern). I liked the location. Got a good rate for $79 per night (king).
We won't be going until Feb or March. Have no idea where we're staying yet. That's why I ended up on this website. Just need someplace clean on the beach. We took a cruise to Cozumel in March, but didn't get a chance to get over to Playa.
I will be staying at Sandos Playacar. I leave 6/27/09 and return 7/4/09. 4 single males 24-25 years old. I have been looking forward to this trip for awhile!!!!

Thanks for your response! We will be at Playa Palms Jul 15 to 19. We are also booked at Casa Del Mar in Cozumel for a couple of nights. We are then thinking of staying somewhere on the beach a little further south after exploring around. Being from SF I am a serious foodie, so any recommendations for authentic, out-of-the way, non-tourist places would be most appreciated.
