Kris, I just returned from picking up lunch. We are open today until 2:00 pm so I just got your message. We stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso a number of years ago but we never visited Playa Del Carmen. We stayed in the resort all the time except one visit to Cancun. We really do want to seriously think about retiring here from what we have heard from our friends. What kind of business are you associated with?
Hi. Thanks. I, and my wife have been to Playa probably nine times in the last 8 years. It is probably my favorite place in the whole world. We are coming down for a week starting this Sunday. My mind has been there for a couple of months.
Hello Kris: We should be arriving August 1st. The thing is we get there late. And looking at the bus schedule, we won`t make it. Are the taxis pretty expensive. I am staying at the Sunset Fichermen

Thanks for the welcome Kris. I am still trying to figure out the format here as it is much different than most of the other forums/message boards. I've been living here for almost five years so if anyone has any question, especially about relocating with children, bring em' on!
It is good to hear from you. I already have plans to visit the Riviera Maya the week of November 21st. I will be staying in Xpu Ha. We hear so much about the swine flu here and a lot of discouragement about visiting Mexico. I could not bear to stay away so I put my plans out towards the end of the year with the thought that this flu issue might be ended by November, if it is as truly bad in Mexico as they make it out to be. I also have my other three girlfriends I brought last year and have them hooked on the Riviera Maya area. They have been prompting me to plan another trip earlier than November for this year. We shall see. I have found there is nothing better than meeting the locals. If you are around the area maybe we could meet.
It is such a small world, I know where Fairfield Avenue is. I live on South Street which is off Route 10. Do you have any plans to visit this area in the near future?
Thank You for the warm welcome .My wife and two daughters went to Playa last week. We stayed at the RIU Yucatan for one week had a great time. The people were great there they filled every request we had and made it a great experience we will be going back on vacation soon.
ok; I just talked to my friends last night. One is headed out of town in a couple of weeks, about the time my teaching is finished and the other one is going to Boston and the Cape area to see her Mom for three weeks in July. I am going to a conference in Oxford, MS (Ole Miss) and will be gone most of July. It would be great if we could get down there in August, especially if you are going to be there.

Thanks for the warm welcome. We will be there in early September. We are staying at the Sandos Playacar. My first time there, but all three of the ladies that I am traveling with have been there many times before which is good because I will be like teh wide eyed child at her first visit to Disneyland. I am sure they will need to keep reminding me to close my mouth!! We plan on going to the ruins in Xcarat and of course riding a scooter on Cozumel. Snorkeling, ziplining and of course swimming with the dolphins is an opportunity that I cannot pass up. I am interested in shopping at the local artisan shops as well.

We are staying at The Royal because my father bought a bunch of weeks there and this is my graduation from college present/sales pitch from him :). I am 25 and she is 20. We are both so excited to go!
