Hi Kris,
Steve and I are very excited about celebrating our vacation at the Occidental Grand Xcaret. We are suppose to leave May 22nd, but now we are a little hesitant about going due to the swine flu. Im planning on calling my travel agent today.
We arent too big on excertions, but we are debating on doing a zip line and or taking a taxi to cozumel for the day. When I did some research on the zip lining it looks like they throw a bunch of other stuff in there with it and there is only 3 lines. Not sure if that is really what we were looking for.
Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Nora

Hi Kris,

Thanks for the warm welcome - my fiance and I are headed down there on May 5th for our honeymoon. We are extremely excited to come (so much so that we aren't letting travel advisories stop us) as we have heard nothing but good things about PDC.

Hi Kris,

Thanks for the quick reply! We're so excited and the little tidbits you and Russ have given us are really appreciated. As I mentioned previously (at least I think I did - LOL) I would really enjoy helping in any way I can to help make the Social Club's site the #1 site (and perhaps more in the future) about Playa Del Carmen. I feel "The Playa Del Carmen Social Club's" site is a GR8 way for people to share their experiences with others and, for those who may be thinking of visiting PDC, it's a way to connect with people who have actually been there, to answer questions and for advice, suggestions, ideas, etc. I believe for a traveler to have somewhere or someone to "chat" with about their destination, whether for a day or weeks or even longer, is invaluable!!

Now for the best part (for some), It's FREE!!!!! All we ask is: Have A Wonderful & Memorable Time and, if you can, post some pictures (and maybe some comments) and tell all your friends about Playa Del Carmen!

Sorry Kris - Once again, I got carried away! I really want to be part of the "team" of the Social Club. I've recently retired and ???
Well, that's enuff for now - again - Hope I haven't overstepped my bounds.
Thanks again Kris

Hi Kris - sorry it's taken so long to get back to you! Debi and I are sooooo X-Cited we can't stand it - LOL

First, let me start by saying - (sung to the tune of - ? - but I'm sure you know it) OH, YOU BEAUTIFUL GAL, YOU GR8 BIG BEAUTIFUL GAL!! To get such a warm, and I could tell heartfelt, welcome to Playa Del Carmen and the "Social Club" was not only an unexpected and wonderful surprise, but it made us have an even larger desire and feeling of the "I want to be there right now" than we already did!!!

I have, as if you haven't already been able to tell, a tendency to rattle on (and on, and on, etc.) so I'll try to bring myself out of the ether of our trip and back down to earth.

We will be arriving May 5th (Cinco de Maya - which I'm sure I've misspelled - which reminds me - Is there anything "special" happening that nite?). We are being picked up by someone on staff of the Royal because we became "owners/members" of "Real Club" 2 years ago and received a free week at the Royal for this year. Dang it, I'm doing it again!!

Anyway Kris, we're staying at the Royal from May 5th to May 11th. May 6th is Debi's 50th B-day and we're also celebrating our 30th Anniversary - even though it's not until Dec. 16th - so one of my questions to you, dear sweet lady is: Do you have any suggestions of what I can do to make the day extra special for the love of my life and better half - I know, I know, I'm a bit corny, but a romantic at heart!! LOL (without spending alot of $$$ - that would only upset her and ruin it).

Also, we would really like to meet you in person and maybe have a drink (alcohol or non - it matters not, but the opportunity to meet you and chat a bit about PDC would be fun. Aaaaaaannnnnnnddddd, I would really like to talk to you about the "Social Club". As you can tell, I love to write and, if possible, I would really like to get involved with it in some capacity - volunteer of course, I'm NOT looking to make $$$, but to be a part of something on the ground floor and to help it grow, while having fun at the same time. Doable? Is that a word, if not, it should be - LOL

OK, nuff said!! I've bent your ears and blurred your eyes long enuff.

Thanks Kris - Hope to hear from you soon or whenever you get a chance -

Chris,
Thanks for the warm welcome. We won't be staying in Playa del Carmen this year, we will actually be further down the coast at the Barcelo Maya Palace, but we will make many trips there throughout our stay. We have stayed in Playa Del Carmen before and enjoyed so much that it has become our regular stomping ground. I am so thrilled that this sight exists, its so great to hear about everyones experiences.

And you're wondering about Winchendon, well it is in northern Worcester county, right on the New Hampshire border below Rindge.

Hi Kris,

My wife and I are very excited about the trip to Playa. We will arrive Lune 19th and will stay till the 25th. The resort we are staying at is the Iberostar Quetzel. We have never been there but a friend of ours went a few years back and loved it. Thanks for the welcome to the site.

Hi Kris - When do you plan on returning to Playa? We (hubby & I ) are planning for the end of Feb/beginning of March for 2 weeks. If you are there during this time, I would love to meet with you over a cupa cocoa. But I must tell you that not all chocolates are the same. I am sure the the hot chocolate at the place you mentioned is delicious, but is it healthy? Xocai Healthy Chocolate is not cooked - it is cold pressed, like olive oil. So it maintains all the high levels of antioxidants and other natural vitamins/minerals for healthy consumption, and it is delicious as well. Also, there are no additives, preservatives, no caffeine and no waxes in this product. It is all natural. Furthermore, it is gluten free and diabetic friendly - vegan, as well, and Kosher certified. (It touches all bases!!) The acai berries, blueberries and low-glycemic raw sugar cane crystals are the basic ingredients. And we have all heard about the acai berry as being the #2 health food in the world. The #1 health food is raw cocoa, which is what Xocai chocolate is. This healthy chocolate helps the cardiovascular system by lowering blood pressure, cholesteral, and platelet aggregation, to name a few. Bascially, Xocai Healthy Chocolate aids in bringing balance within your body. Many people have lost weight by consuming 3 nuggets a day. My son lost 35 lbs. in 5 wks. and has maintained the weight-loss for over a yr. to present time. This chocolate is amazing. Like you said, everyone loves chocolate, so if you have a choice, wouldn't you want to eat healthy chocolate that is guilt free??? I really hope we can meet in Playa so I can offer you a taste of this yummy chocolate. And that goes for anyone, who reads this.

Hi Kris,
Thank you for the warm WELCOME. That was awesome. So, you want me to share my dream... It is like this: I have recently entered into a home-based business in which I can create a residual income so that I can enjoy the sunny beaches at Playacar. No only that, but I can bring my business with me, since it has no borders. I can work a few hours a day, if I choose or not and still make an income. This is better than having a pension, since pensions are rather shakey right now. So what is my business? It is Xocai (sho sigh) Healthy Chocolate - the natural chocolate that originated with the Mayans. They used chocolate for medicinal purposes, rituals and money. It is like going back in time to touch base with that valuable commody that enabled the Mayans to experience the health and wealth benefits. I really believe that I have come full circle with my chocolate business and the Mayan civilization. I would love others, within this Social Club, to have the opportunity to grow in health and wealth so as to enjoy longer stays at the beautiful surroundings in Playa Del Carman. So I invite anyone who is curious to learn more about Xocai Healthy Chocolate.

I MUST HAVE 50 EMAILS/OFFERS TO GO THROUGH. EVERYONE IS TELLING ME IT IS A BUYERS MARKET (ESPECIALLY ON MY TRAVEL DATES). I AM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING WITH A POOL, ON THE BEACH, CONVENIENT TO 5TH, CLEAN, FAIRLY NEW (WELL? Thanks for the welcome, Kris. We are looking forward to our trip in June. We have a timeshare at the Royal Haciendas. I was checking out the news on safety and stumbled upon this group. We met some folks while on a ski trip last month who just said some awful things about their trip last August. As I thought, the violence is mostly along the border. Shoot, we are probably safer in PDC than we are right here on the Texas-Mexico border!
