THEFTS! Lock up all electronics!
My mother and sister are visiting Playa this week and staying in a penthouse on 1st Avenue near 24th street. (Hacienda San Jose). Yesterday evening, their Mac laptop, cell phone, iPod port, and watch were stolen out of their condo. They have estimated the time of the theft to have occurred betwn 6:30pm and 8:00pm, while they were out at a bar across the street. If anyone has any information regarding these thefts please contact the police department. Also, if anyone knows of any possible recourse that may be taken, rgarding reimbursebent for the stolen items, please contact me or post a blog. Be warned that as travelers we are all vulnerable, unfortunately even in Playa.

Comment by Paul MacKay on April 14, 2009 at 7:05pm - Well, first sorry about your loses.But, I hope that you get something from the insurence. I have had it done to me byt, not in mexico. I got nothing from the traveler insurence. I would look into people working in the complex you were renting.
