To answer your question about an off the beaten path fun day. Mayan Zip line is a good balance of fun and adrenaline. From Secrets it would be about a 7 hour day, Alltournatives would pick you up at the hotel.
Kris here in the forum can help you arrange this or like tours. The owner of the company is a loooong time friend who dates back 13 years to the early days here. Gavin has one of the best eco-sensitive tour companies.... you will not be disappointed. (-:
I will keep you posted on my travel dates and do some intorductions with folks who will be down when you are (-:

Welcome to the social club, it sounds like you are on your way down to Playa. I leave in the morning to go back, I get back and forth 6 or so times a year and love it, you will have a great time.

Thanks Russ, This helps but I heard the Mexican gov't would be allowing card games in 2010 and casinos were being built now in Playa del Carmen which would have card games. I deal cards so if you do here anymore about this I would REALLY appreciat...
