- My only concern about Mamitas Village is the noise level from Mamitas Beach Club which rocks (cool to visit.. but not so cool if you are trying to sleep at night)...

- No problem (-: Yes. Illusions is nice, its close to everything, however if a pool is important to you - their pool is VERY tiny on their roof top deck.
Shangri La i LOVE and if you are not a big TV watcher its an awesome place !!!
I am really good friends with the managers of all these hotels and resorts so if you have any speicfic questions I will be glad to get you information. Just ask away...

- Hey Christy, All these are great choices. The all inclusives you chose are wonderful, as Kris told you, the Royal is adult only and you will feel very pampered !!! I loved it.
The small hotels and the suites are wonderful and offer a completely different experience. If you are planning to travel with your son then the suites are great because each of you can have your own room and private bathroom, you can eat/snack at the suite during the day and then go out for lunch or dinner... (personaly I am partial to Porto Playa (-: ) they have a beautiful and open pool.

- Thanks for the note. The ROYAL is an adult only resort and Gran Porto Real is geared more towards families , both are in a great location, your on the beach and 1 1/2 blocks from the action of 5th Ave. Did I mention the shops are open til midnight....... :)

Thanks Russ, This helps but I heard the Mexican gov't would be allowing card games in 2010 and casinos were being built now in Playa del Carmen which would have card games. I deal cards so if you do here anymore about this I would REALLY appreciat...
