HI CARLA;
NEW TO THE FORUM MYSELF. JUST GOT BACK FROM PLAYA THIS APRIL AND STAYED AT THE SHANGRI-LA CARIBE. RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO IT IS THE LA CUEVA DEL CHANGO. VERY JUNGLY AND DEFINITELY COOL. I THINK THEY HAVE THEIR OWN WEBSITE. CONGRATS!

The Mayan Ceremony can certainly be arranged... you would need a Xaman. For a "unique" not a boring sit down dinner - did you have in mind a buffett or what would make it unique?
As far as partying after - there are LOTS of very cool beach clubs that can host you, There is the Coco Maya where you can dance and hang.
OK... what type of wedding and reception did you have in mind? is there a "dream wedding" or something that will make the whole experience PERFECT for you and your guests? give me some ideas about what you really enjoy... I have stayed in just about every property in the area and know the restaurants pretty well so will be able to make some good suggestions (-:
Nice to see you on the social club. If I could make a suggestion, for your sanity (and your guests....) keep the reception and party for the wedding at the same place. If you do it on the beach at one of the beach clubs you can basicaly spend the afternoon into the evening there without having to shuffle and try to run from place to place. December is really busy so its not going to be a very comfortable situation. Of course also depends on the size of your group... how many are coming with you? Let me know details and I will make some suggestions based on your comments.
no worries, there are soooooo many different resorts down that way. The Grand Palladium is a family resort not adult only. Take a look at the Valentin Imperial Maya, that one has a beautiful setting
Well I am impressed, it sounds like you have been down there many times. :)
There is a great All Inclusive resort that is 5 star and adult only called the ROYAL in Playa del Carmen. It is right on the beach as well. 1 1/2 blocks from 5th Ave.
We have had quite a few wedding groups at Las Palapas (hotel) and Riviera Maya Suites (2 and 3 Bedroom condos) that share Las Palapas facilities. There are videos posted and pictures posted here on the Social club. Let me know what you think of these.

Sounds like you have been down there a couple of times. Will family and friends be joining you? If so, will you be inviting anyone with children? Sorry for so many questions I just want to make sure I can suggest the best places that fit your needs.
Kris
Hi Adias Angel!
WELCOME to the Social Club!
We started this site to get people who have never been there before excited about Playa and people who have been there and LOVED it, to post stories, comments, suggestions, pictures and videos to share.
You have picked a GREAT place to get married, Playa is wonderful. Let me know what you envision for your wedding to be like. I would be happy to make some suggestions.
Again Welcome!
