The media was very good last year of making Mexico dangerous. Think back and look at the timing, it was just before spring break and lasted until the end of spring break.... Where was all that money meant to be during the melt down, USA and Canada...

Hi, me and my wife stayed in Playacar, it is a resort town just outside of Playa Del Carmen, we felt really safe there and when we went to Cozumel there are cops all over the place it is a little unnerving but they are they to protect the tourists...
All we are hearing in Texas is how dangerous it is in Mexico now. We read where some bodies we discovered just outside of Cancun. We have always gone to Playa 2-3 times a year. But right now I am unsure. What is actually happening in Paradise?
We live the RIUs. Guess it the European experience that keeps pulling me back!!!
Beginning of huricane season. We got caught in Wilma several years ago in October. But I would not let that stop me from going in September.

I arrived here today, staying at Playa Palms for 5 nights ands and then going to Soliman Bay for a couple to use a friends house. Town is quiet but it si still Playa. There was a great street bazaar on the noth end, LOTS of booths, food, music..... weather is hot. No reason not to enjoy Playa if you want to.
