I read in a travel book that I could probably get a good deal on prescription glasses in Playa. - actually paying half of what I would pay in the states. Can anyone give recommendations for quick service that would have them ready in 6 days or les...
Sonia, We're not going until January. We stayed at Mimi Del Mzr last year too and loved it. It's asmall place right on the beach that treats everybody great and is a great location for 5th St. We're a little uncertain about Copal, but anxious to give it a try. I'll let you know how it goes. Take care, Rick
Sonia, I have made plans to stay 3 nts at Copal Cabanas, 4 nts at Playa Mambo and 6 nts at Mimi Del Mar in Playa. Not real sure how we'll handle the lack of electricity and the idea of possiblky finding critters in our cabana, but I want to give it a try and I gotta believe that being on the beach in Tulum late at night with no eleectricity in the area would make for beautiful skies. I am also real happy with my airfare that was only $275 non-stop from Ohio. Happy 4th to everybody too. Rick
I am glad to hear you are finally set with your plans :) It'sll be here before you know it. I will keep you posted when I am headed down there as well.
Have a happy and Safe 4th of July
Kris
HEY!!!!
Finally a ticket to paradise LOL! Did you get your hotel yet? If so where are you staying?
I am not sure what the boss has instore for my travel dates to Playa this summer, I usually head down in Sept or Oct.
Kris
Sonia, When were you last in Playa and are you planning another trip at this time? Where have you stayed when you visit? Have you ever stayed in the Tulum area? Thanks, Rick
Weather is good, been windy but warm and sunny. I stay at Playa Palms foten. It is one of my favorite because it is easy, I get a studio with refrig, and microwave. So I do a shopping the day I arrive and I can eat well while I am here. Usually only go out for 1 meal a day, sometimes not even that.
I like the fresh fruit and viggies, granola, yogurt, cheeses. There are a couple really good markets in town now so quality shopping is easy. A couple other hotels I stay at are Illusions, Aqualuna and when my wife and / or daughter are along Porto Playa or El Taj. None of us are all inclusive types.
When are you thinking about coming down. I am back 4/27 to 5/9
HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sooooo happy to hear from you, HOW ARE YOU?????????
I am ready myself to head down there.......it has been a long winter, maybe in the early Summer. Keep me posted and let me know when you are ready maybe we can hook up down there :)
Talk to you overy soon!
Kris
Love to travel (obviously!) and I have fallen in love with Playa. My heart belongs to Playa (not daddy!). At some point I'd sure like to own a condo there. Maybe when I retire.
Winpot is about 280 gaming machines in addition to the sports book & bingo. THere is a seperate gaming room for smokers, main floor is non-smoking.

There is currently 1 casino in Playa, Winpot. Casino, small sports book, bingo. Mexicans are not allowed to use 'cards' so all games are played electronicly but you do play against others and the house as if they were dealing. Texas Hold'em is pop...

Hope all is well. Kris mentioned the other day that you were headed south..... wish I was going with you, I hope to get down once more before the hoildays.... then again in Feb I hope :)
