Hi Sean;
Welcome to the Social Club! We started this site to get people who have never been there before excited about Playa and people who have been there and LOVED it as you have to post stories, comments, suggestions, pictures and videos to share.
WELCOME ABOARD!

We suggest you use http://Kayak.com to scan for flights. They are really all over the board and change OFTEN. Best time to check is Tuesday afternoon because that is when the airlines traditionally adjust for unsold inventory every week.

My wife and I live in Seattle so it is a little bit more of a trip than when we lived in Austin.
Do you know of any good deals on airfare that are a regular type of thing? We used to use Funjet out of Austin but it is not available from Seattle.
The Blue Parrot has changed. Very few rooms any more, Rick Jones is in Costa Rica. The brand is owned by Tom & Pam, they may have been just after your wedding.
The Celio Tropical Suites that the Parrot used to manage is now called Playa Palms, I stay there regularly (4 weeks in 09, so far). You will still love Playa. More condo's, less small hotels. Great food and a beer is now 20 pesos. But, all in all still a great place.
Russ, my wife and I got married at the Blue Parrot back in June of 04. We had an absolutely fantastic experience, I am wondering how much Playa has changed since then? I had heard that Playa was one of the fastest growing cities in Latin America. Also, has it gotten more expensive down there, or have the prices gone down do to the economic downturn?
Regards, Sean.
Welcome to the social club. We built the site to allow people to see Playa the way we see it, we hope it brings back a few good memories and gets you excited about coming back down (-:
