Hey Russ, we have arrived. Are at the Hacienda Paradis, and probably going to go to the beach tomorrow. Probably the beach that the hotel recommended. Maybe do Cobo on friday renting a car thru Buster Rentals, but will be around friday evening if you want to hook up. I can have my cell phone on me Friday. I would do Playa Palms, Playa Maya, Illusions, if you are budget traveling All Riviera or Mimi Del Mar. San Juan Pensione if you want 5th Ave budget. The north end has a couple nice place on 5th which at that end of town is a couple blocks from the beach.

Well we just booked our flights for Mexico and now definitely need to find a place to stay in Playa Del Carmen for 3 nights Feb 18,19,20. Kris has been helping me, but I thought I'd ask you about some places either on the beach or close to it, a smaller place, but we both smoke, so would like a balcony and access to outside easily. Any hints? Already booked our car rental for 3 days, as we are then traveling onto Isle Mujeres for a week.

I keep telling my wife that I am going to Bangor to attend a 2 week boat building course that I have wanted to take for the past 2 years, maybe this summer I will get there.

Aventuras Mexicana has been around for about 8 years. It was sold 2 years ago along with Terria Maya next to it and combined into a single hotel. The old Aventuras Mexicana side being 'adult' and the Terria Maya side being 'family'. THe property is small and while they are adult/family, they are also connected and the line is pretty undefined. The property is 3 blocks from the beach on the north end.

Depending on your budget, you might consider Playa Palms or Illusions Hotel. Both are 'in town' and on the beach. Illusion is adult only, Playa Palms is either or but for 3 days is a great location.

Hello from beautiful Bar Harbor. Yes we're cold and can't wait to get back to Mexico. Rick and I traveled to Maroma Beach for the first time together this November, and traveled to Playa Del Carmen for just a day. Now we're going back once again to Playa for 3 days and then onto Isles Mujeles for a week. We're looking for a small hotel to spend 3 nights in Playal. We're looking into a place called Aventura Mexicana. What gives? Seeing all kinds of sites on the internet. We like private, adult beach side, close to the action but not in the middle of it.
Can't wait to get back.
