Thanks Russ, This helps but I heard the Mexican gov't would be allowing card games in 2010 and casinos were being built now in Playa del Carmen which would have card games. I deal cards so if you do here anymore about this I would REALLY appreciat...

That si really your call. I personally do not like the package tours just because you are part of a group and the tour will set the pace. The flip side is that an organized pretty brainless.
The ride if you decide to rent a car is easy. THere is only a single highway that runs from Playa to Tulum and impossible to get lost. The car also allows me flexibility and I love exploring (-: THis decision is personal taste, if you drive let me know and I can offer a side stop or 2. Xelha is a very nice stop.

If you want to make the trip RENT A CAR, don't do a tour. The drive is about 3.5 hours and if you rent a car and make a day of it you can actually create a pretty interesting day for yourself. The ruins in very interesting.
The other option would be to do the Tulum ruins, much smaller but very similar. You also should rent a car car to do this and I will be glad to give you a couple other stops along the way so you will have a great 'day experience' with less than 3 hours total drive time (-:

WHere are you staying when you are down. Lots of folks here in the social cleub that know the clubs, etc. and I am sure they can offer advice. A couple of our folks just got back from shooting nightlife so we should have those clips up before you leave.
