Where to stay in Playacar

We very much enjoyed the Iberostar although we are a family -- lots of multi-generational families and couples, which may not be as appealing to 3 bachelors.

Try the Sunset Fisherman in Playacar and waking distance to downtown Playa DelCarmen, check out some of the reviews on Trip Advissor, you can also check through any timeshare rental outfit to rent a unit for a week, just dont get hooked into a timeshare sale preentation and if you do remember to say, No, No, No. For four guys this should be fun.....

We decided on a recommendation from Russ, now staying at the Grand Porto Real 5 star AI located in downtown Playa. Thanks for the feedback, any suggestions on nightlife? Also, if anyone has stayed there, please let me know how you liked your stay. We are counting down the days now, departing on 2/7 and its been FRIGID here in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia(just 1o miles south of D.C.)...

I have stayed there twice very nice great service and close proximity to town.

thanks Sahron, any suggestion on what are of the Hotel we should stay? I have read some negatives about loud A/C compressor noise and one end is close to bars that play loud music until 4am(we will probably be in those bars until 4am partying with them...LOL). We have reserved two junior suites...Mucho Gracious

I personally like staying close to the pool people watching, close to bar,,,great beds on beach

nice lobby bar and graet Italian restauraunt

Has anyone stayed at the Gran Porto Real? If so please share your opinion of your stay. Or, if anyone is familiar with the resort, please tell me what you know. Thanks

When are ya'll gonna be in Playa? We'll be back down Feb. 3rd for a couple weeks. The Grand Porto Real is very nice and in a great location. We'll have to grab some margaritas!!!

Absolutely! We arrive on Feb 7 and depart on Feb 14, so pick a night and a spot close to us and lets do some shots and have a cocktail. I am traveling with three buddies, all fun and great guys, we will be having a blast for sure
