Taste of Playa - A new culinary event in Playa del Carmen!!
Please join us September 5, 2009 from 3pm to 9pm in the Parque Fundadores for Taste of Playa - 1st Annual Sampling!
Taste of Playa is a new community based culinary festival set in the heart of the Riviera Maya. With inspiration drawn from the dreams of several local business owners, this event was conceived as a way to celebrate the extraordinary talents of chefs and restaurateurs who have chosen Playa del Carmen as their home and establish the Riviera Maya as a world class culinary destination.
Entrance to the event is open to the public and completely free of charge. Individual samples from the nearly 35 participating restaurants can be purchased with Taste of Playa Pesos available for sale at the event. All inclusive VIP Passports will also available for sale after August 15, 2009 and can be purchased for $400 MN at Hotel Cielo, Hotel Tropical Casablanca and Luna Blue Hotel.
In the spirit of community, a portion of the proceeds will be used to assist a not-for- profit food program in the area, with this year’s beneficiary being Ak Lu’um International School. Funds raised by Taste of Playa 2009 will provide the school with safe, clean drinking water for students, teachers and volunteers for the 2009/2010 school year.

We will be glad to post the event on the Events Calender in http://www.playadelcarmen.com (directory) if you want this featured in PlayaDelCarmen.com we can discuss it.
The directory area of PDC gets just about 1000 unique users a day and this social club sees another 300 to 400 a day so your exposure will be good. We actually started the directory area because we have a high demand from hotels and others that want access to the traffic but to handle their own advertising and follow-up. Haydee will be in touch.

I am actually down the 18th of July for a couple weeks and will be back in the fall for a couple trips, I am sure. I manage to get down every 60 days or so.... we will be sure to cross paths one of the trips.

Winpot is about 280 gaming machines in addition to the sports book & bingo. THere is a seperate gaming room for smokers, main floor is non-smoking.

There is currently 1 casino in Playa, Winpot. Casino, small sports book, bingo. Mexicans are not allowed to use 'cards' so all games are played electronicly but you do play against others and the house as if they were dealing. Texas Hold'em is pop...

Does anyone know if casinos are opening next year in Playa Del Carmen? Someone told me that they are. I want to move to the area and this is the line of work I am in therefore would love know if this is true. Thanks, Becly
