I read in a travel book that I could probably get a good deal on prescription glasses in Playa. - actually paying half of what I would pay in the states. Can anyone give recommendations for quick service that would have them ready in 6 days or less? Also, where's the best place to get stud earrings (Mexican Fire opals)? Can't wait. Will be there Aug. 31st. If anyone is getting a group together let me know. Would love to have a meal with someone.

Winpot is about 280 gaming machines in addition to the sports book & bingo. THere is a seperate gaming room for smokers, main floor is non-smoking.

There is currently 1 casino in Playa, Winpot. Casino, small sports book, bingo. Mexicans are not allowed to use 'cards' so all games are played electronicly but you do play against others and the house as if they were dealing. Texas Hold'em is pop...

Does anyone know if casinos are opening next year in Playa Del Carmen? Someone told me that they are. I want to move to the area and this is the line of work I am in therefore would love know if this is true. Thanks, Becly
