Has anyone taken the ADO bus from the airport to Playa? Trying to save a few bucks on transfers , and heard this is about 8.00 per person. We are staying at the Illusion hotel.
I'm planning of booking a stay in July '09. I'll ride the ADO bus to Playa, but almost all of the return flights leave Cancun at either 7a, 8a, or 9a (continental). Will I have to take a taxi to get there that early? And how early before my flight do I need to be at the airport? Thanks for any info...
Hey Nancy,It is a very good way to get to Playa from the airport.A taxi is about $60.00 US.If you take a shuttle they may stop at several resorts before you get to town. The ADO is non-stop to 5th Ave.Then you can catch a cab to your hotel from the terminal.

Do yourself a favour a pay for a cab, about $90 dollars US, if you want to get to town fast and be on the beach within 1 hour that is the way to go, and you can stop on the way and pick up some cervezas on the way to your hotel, small price to pay but worth it.

We have decided to take the ADO when we get there in Jan 2010, we want to save some money and hope this is the way to do it, we have been to PDC before and know where the bus station is located, and it is close to everything, we are staying at The Reef Playacar this year and I know it is about $ 5.00 US for a cab ride to the hotel, this is a great link, lots of info, and saved me lots money, talk to everybody soon.
hey so i was also wondering about the ADO bus from th air port.... how is it ? is it a long trip .. does it make many stops or just the one in playa... let me know. im going january 6th 2010. thanx alot
I never rode the ADO bus from the airport but I have taken it from Playa TO the airport. Its easy, cheap, and comfortable. They even play a movie, about an hour trip in an airconditioned tour bus, I don't know the schedule but its like about every 30 - 40 mins. I'm going there myself Dec 26 - Jan 2, and I'm taking the bus, it's a short walk from the station to my hotel.

Becky,
Sned me a private message with your email. The Director General at Winpot in Playa is a friend. He is from San Diego, about 35.... nice guy. Will be glad to send an intro email for you.
Thanks Russ, This helps but I heard the Mexican gov't would be allowing card games in 2010 and casinos were being built now in Playa del Carmen which would have card games. I deal cards so if you do here anymore about this I would REALLY appreciat...
